‘Bob Marley: One Love’ Opens Big at Box Office with $34.1 Million


“Bob Marley: One Love” opened in first place at the box office, taking in $34.1 million over the four-day Presidents Day weekend, according to updated industry estimates released Monday.
The biopic, which stars Kingsley Ben-Adir as the late Jamaican reggae legend, opened last Wednesday, on Valentine’s Day. It easily beat out Sony and Marvel’s “Madame Web,” which opened with $18 million Friday through Monday after some brutal reviews.
“Argylle” was third with $5.7 million in its third week at North American theaters, Comscore reported.
“Migration” was fourth with $5.1 million in its ninth week, followed by “Wonka” with $4.3 million in its 10th week in theaters.
“The Chosen: Season 4 Episodes 4-6,” a multi-season drama about the life of Jesus Christ, was in sixth place with $3.9 million in its opening weekend.
Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases, as estimated by Comscore, were “The Beekeeper” ($3.8 million), “Anyone But You” ($2.8 million), “Lisa Frankenstein” ($2.4 million) and “Land of Bad” ($2.1 million).
