ArtWalk Liberty Station Scheduled for Aug. 4-6

ArtWalk Liberty Station is back for its 18th year, bringing a weekend-long celebration of arts and culture to San Diego’s Liberty Station from Aug. 4 to Aug. 6.
The event celebrates creativity from both sides of the border with more than 175 artists coming from across several states and Mexico to show and sell their artwork, including paintings, photography, glass and ceramic, jewelry, and sculpture.
“ArtWalk at Liberty Station brings fine art outside, under San Diego’s sunny skies to create the opportunity for viewing art under natural light,” explains Curt Brooker, director of ArtWalk San Diego. “Attendees can purchase artwork directly from the fine artists. It’s a memorable experience to meet the artists and learn what inspires them to create.”
The event will be fenced, even though admission is free. The fence allows attendees to enjoy beer and wine (for those 21-years and over) strolling around the event, rather than having to remain in a Beer Garden. Guests are asked to show their ID to receive a wristband to be able to purchase alcoholic beverages.
This fine art show is a part of the ArtWalk San Diego brand known for bringing together all facets of the arts throughout San Diego, while promoting the experience of owning original art. Each of ArtWalk San Diego’s festivals support its nonprofit partner, ArtReach San Diego, an organization aimed at increasing equity in visual arts education in K-8 schools throughout San Diego County by delivering free or low cost workshops to schools that have no other resources for art, focusing on Title One Schools.
The event will run from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday. Attendance and parking are free.
ArtWalk Liberty Station is located at 2751 Dewey Road. For more information on ArtWalk and its programs, please visit www.artwalksandiego.org.
