Bodhi Tree Concerts begins its 13th season next month with the San Diego debut of opera star Melody Moore.

Moore, accompanied by pianist Ines Irawati, will perform in a recital at 7 p.m. March 16 at St. James-by-the Sea, 743 Prospect St., in La Jolla.

The program will include selections from her recently released, Grammy-nominated album Remembering Tebaldi.

Moore is enjoying a thriving career on the world’s leading stages, prompting Opera News to label her “a revelation.” She most recently performed with LA Opera as Amneris in Verdi’s Aida and San Francisco Opera as Mère Marie in Dialogues des Carmélites. The season also saw the release of Moore’s interpretation of the title role in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly and the recording of a critically acclaimed concert of Puccini’s Tosca, captured live in Berlin.

Proceeds from Moore’s concert will benefit The Trevor Project, which focuses on suicide prevention efforts among LGBTQ youth.

The season continues through Sept. 22 at multiple venues:

  • April 6-7 – 7 p.m., “Closer than Ever” by Richard Maltby Jr. and David Shire, La Jolla Community Center
  • May 10-12 – 7 p.m., “The Falling and the Rising” by Zach Redler and Jerre Dye, San Diego Veterans Museum
  • June 22 – noon, Music en la Calle festival, City Heights Performance Annex
  • Sept. 20-22 – 7 p.m., Kurt Weill/Brecht Double Bill, Soap Factory
