Children’s Museum of Discovery to host Science & Engineering Night

The Children’s Museum of Discovery, formerly the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum, will host its annual Science & Engineering Night on from 5 to 7:30 p.m. July 19.
This after-hours event provides families with the opportunity to participate in hands-on science, technology, reading, engineering, art, and math (STREAM) activities. Through a wide range of science and engineering topics, children ages 4 to 10 are offered early exposure to STREAM education.
Throughout the event, children will engage in more than 15 interactive activities like learning about robotics and coding with Magikid Robotics Lab, exploring a fire truck with the Escondido Fire Department, meeting real scientists and engineers, and more. Plus, families won’t want to miss discovering kinesiology through dance with Lovely Leaps Dance Studio.
“At the museum, we pride ourselves on creating authentic hands-on learning experiences that spark a love of learning,” said Christina Piranio, CEO of The Children’s Museum of Discovery. “Through events, such as Science & Engineering Night, we’re providing families with opportunities to build foundational skills in STEM education while fostering a natural wonder about all things, from archaeology to electrical circuits.”
The Museum’s STREAM programs and events are an introduction to science and engineering for many families, particularly economically disadvantaged families, who may not have access to these hands-on programs at home.
Pre-registration is required for this event. Tickets are $12 for members and $17 for non-members. Special discounts are available for military and veteran families and families with EBT/WIC/SNAP.
