Easter Happenings Ahead of April’s Holiday Weekend

barleymash, led by Chef Kevin Templeton and Chef Rose Lane, has prepared a special Easter brunch menu available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Easter Sunday. Sip on the What’s Up Doc? ($19) With gin, carrot, lemon, and Perrier-Jouët Blanc Champagne, the Spritz It Up ($18) with Saint Marguerite Rose, strawberry, sparkling water, and bubbles, and the Mimosa Tower ($22) with fresh orange, carrot, honey-cucumber, and guava. For kicking off the morning right with your first meal of the day, indulge in What a Ham ($21) with baked ham and cheddar biscuit with melon salad or the Pass the Dutchy ($18) with mini Dutch baby pancakes, fresh berries, and vanilla bean whip.
Looking to keep your Easter Sunday seaside and tropical? Miss B’s Coconut Club has an open-air patio and indoor dining space a block from the sand and shore in Mission Beach. Serving brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., reserve your spots via OpenTable. Bottomless mimosas accompany a menu full of Caribbean-inspired fare, perfect for the space’s vibrant, lively atmosphere.
Cococabana and The Lobby Tiki Bar & Grill, located in downtown Oceanside within the historic Brick Hotel, are open on Easter Sunday with brunch offerings like bottomless espresso martinis and bottomless mimosas from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A live DJ will also keep the beats bumping rooftop from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Enjoy Shepherd’s Pie ($19) with miso braised short rib, cabbage, carrot, white corn, shimeji mushroom, and Irish white cheddar and potato puree crust, Truffle Salmon Sashimi ($24) with salmon, black truffle ponzu, garlic aioli, garlic petals, tobiko, beet sea salt & negi, the Bunny & Clyde Roll ($22) with yellowtail, roasted poblano, spicy tuna, cucumber, yamagobo, yuzu kosho aioli, sriracha sweet soy & shiso, and the Easter Yuzu Tart ($13) with kataifi pastry, yuzu cream, ginger almibar, matcha, almonds, and raspberry. From the bar, indulge in the Bad Bunny ($16) with bourbon, crème de cacao, walnut bitters, orange bitters, demerara, and chocolate egg garnish, the Easter Egg Sour ($16) with roku, crème de violette, lemon, sugar, and fee foam, and the Lola Bunny ($16) with coconut crème, crème de cacao, Humboldt Spiced Rum, lemon, orgeat, orange bitters, and coconut flakes.
Breakfast Republic, with locations throughout San Diego County from Hillcrest to Scripps Ranch to Encinitas, offers Easter breakfast. Open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at all locations, indulge in fan favorites like Chilaquiles, Portuguese Linguisa Sausage Scramble, Breakfast Bacon Mac n Cheese, and Strawberry Cheesecake Pancakes, along with a vegan menu.
