MTS and NCTD Riders Can Get Limited Edition San Diego Comic-Con PRONTO Cards

San Diego’s largest event of the year is just around the corner, and the Metropolitan Transit System and North County Transit District are starting the celebration by partnering with Comic-Con to release limited edition PRONTO ticket cards.
The design of the cards includes the pop-culture convention’s distinctive logo of an eye, which first appeared in 1995 to mark the growing international appeal of the event. Comic-Con PRONTO cards will be available for presale on the PRONTO website and over the phone through July 15.
The remaining special edition cards will be available for purchase at the MTS Transit Store in Downtown San Diego, NCTD Customer Service Centers and at certain Trolley and COASTER station ticket machines between July 23 and July 28.
As the largest comics and pop culture event in the United States, the convention is expected to draw around 200,000 fans from around the world. The MTS trolley system has become a popular way for fans to get to the convention and avoid traffic. Last year alone the MTS system carried an estimated 250,000 extra passenger trips during the four day convention.
NCTD saw a 3.5% increase in passengers over last year’s Comic-Con weekend by getting an early Comic-Con transit pass, attendees can be prepared to make their way to the convention.
MTS Trolleys and bus riders can also purchase discounted Comic-Con day passes. Conference attendees can get discounted two, three, four and five day pass options in the PRONTO mobile app in addition to the PRONTO website and over the phone.
Comic-Con attendees using the COASTER can ride for five days and pay for just three with the COASTER 5-pack. The COASTER 5-pack provides a 40% discount on a regional day pass and is valid for a month from the date of purchase.
