Mabel’s Gone Fishing in North Park Awarded Michelin’s Coveted Bib Gourmand

The prestigious Michelin Guide announced 10 new California restaurants Tuesday that its inspectors have awarded with a Bib Gourmand and North Park’s Mabel’s Gone Fishing is the sole honoree in San Diego County.
Mabel’s is now one of 143 Bib Gourmand restaurants statewide featured in the 2023 guide, defined by Michelin as spots that “offer a meal of good quality at a good value,” Eater reported.
“Charm is in abundant supply at this popular gathering place, from the name and décor (both of which honor an owner’s beloved dog) to the easygoing, friendly staff,” according to the guide.
Earlier this year, the seafood establishment from the women behind The Rose, Secret Sister and Bodega Rosette, was highlighted as a “new discovery” by the guide, making it eligible to bump up to Bib Gourmand status, Eater reported.
The full 2023 Michelin Guide California is set to be announced on July 18 in Oakland.
