Pechanga Arena San Diego will retain its name through December 2026, following an extension of the naming rights agreement between the arena and Pechanga Resort Casino, located near Temecula.

The partnership, which began in late 2018, marks Pechanga Resort Casino as the longest-serving naming rights partner in the venue’s history. Since then, the two entities have collaborated on a number of community initiatives, including food and toy drives and Red Cross blood donations.

The 16,000-capacity arena, which opened in 1966 as the San Diego Sports Arena, continues to host concerts, sporting events, and family shows. It serves as home to the San Diego Gulls and San Diego Seals.

In 2024, Billboard ranked the venue No. 18 worldwide for arenas in the 10,001–15,000 capacity range, with over $29 million in gross sales and 277,000 tickets sold.

In August 2024, Midway Rising took over the lease for the city-owned arena. The development group has brought on global firm Legends to manage sponsorship, food and beverage, and operations, to maintain the arena’s status as a major destination for sports and entertainment in San Diego.
