Poway OnStage Presents Heartwarming Holiday Show Featuring the Music of John Denver

Feel like some good old John Denver music?

Poway OnStage invites you to share in the joy of the holiday season with Jim Curry’s “A Rocky Mountain Christmas” on Dec. 7 at 7:30 pm.

This festive concert, perfect for families and music lovers, brings the iconic sounds of John Denver to life, blending timeless holiday classics with the rich folk melodies that made Denver a household name.

Curry, renowned for his tribute performances, will perform some of Denver’s most beloved songs, including “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” “Rocky Mountain High,” and “Annie’s Song,” while infusing the spirit of the holidays with a special selection of Christmas favorites such as “Silver Bells” and “The Christmas Song.”

After earning a full Rotary International scholarship to study music and voice, Curry was selected to provide the singing voice of Denver in the CBS Television Movie “Take Me Home, the John Denver Story.” Since then, he has performed Denver’s beloved songs to audiences worldwide, including prestigious venues alongside Denver’s original band members. Curry also hosted the PBS John Denver special and the official “John Denver Estate show,” which toured the U.S. and Australia.”

“A Rocky Mountain Christmas” is a celebration of the season, combining beautiful melodies, engaging storytelling, and a warm, festive atmosphere. The show offers a way for guests to enjoy the wonder of the holidays and the beloved music of Denver in a cozy, intimate setting. With stunning visuals, breathtaking acoustic renditions, and a feel-good ambiance, this show will quickly become a holiday tradition for attendees of all ages.

In the spirit of giving this holiday season, Poway OnStage is partnering with the Poway & Ramona Head Start programs, run by CAPSLO, to bring extra joy and comfort to local families in need. During “Jim Curry’s A Rocky Mountain Christmas” on Dec. 7, Poway OnStage will be accepting donations of new pajamas of all sizes. These gifts will be directly distributed to children and families served by the Head Start programs, providing much-needed warmth and care.
