The San Diego County Arts and Culture Commission and Office of Economic Development and Government Affairs are partnering with the Prebys Foundation for a new grant program to increase local arts and culture project funds.

With the new partnership, from Dec. 1 through Jan. 31, 2025, organizations applying for County Community Enhancement grants can receive dollar-for-dollar matching funds from the Prebys Foundation when hiring artists or practitioners

County funds, $250,000. will be matched by the Prebys Foundation, totaling $500,000. Grant amounts to organizations will range from $2,500 to $5,000. The grants could be put toward murals, public art pieces and more. The partnership will fund projects of $5,000 to $10,000 when matched.

“This initiative aims to help the County Arts and Culture Commission establish a vision that invests in artists in a sustained and meaningful way,” said Prebys Foundation CEO Grant Oliphant. “We look forward to the thriving arts scene and strengthened partnerships that will result from this collaboration.

Organizations can apply for funding by visiting the Community Enhancement Grant portal. Current grant applications will be automatically reviewed to determine eligibility.
