Get ready for a new dining experience this fall as Communion makes its debut above Mission Hills.

Perched high above the vibrant neighborhood, this rooftop venue from restaurateur Jacquee Renna Downing of La Quinta Cliffhouse and Pacifica Seafood) will offer panoramic views of San Diego’s coastal skyline, setting the stage for culinary artistry and conviviality.

The restaurant’s menu from executive chef Mike Moritz of Mille Fleurs and Mister A’s is described as “a masterful fusion of global inspirations and local ingredients, meticulously crafted to deliver modern plates that are as visually captivating as they are delicious.” The shareable dishes will draw on the flavors and culinary traditions of renowned coastal regions around the world.

Desserts will play a starring role as well, with Pastry Chef Aly Lyng of George’s at the Cove at the helm of Communion’s sweet creations. Complementing the offerings is a conceptual cocktail menu featuring innovative house tinctures, syrups, and spirits.

Designed by the acclaimed San Diego-based hospitality designer Design Perspectives, the modern space features soothing colors and lux fabrics, enhanced by eye-catching installations including a flowing fabric ceiling above the bar that dances with the breeze, a preserved butterfly installation from The Butterfly Company, and an impressionist mural by local artists David Gil and Katya Beatty.

Communion is set to open in early November at 901 W Washington Street. You can learn more about its menu and opening date by visiting DineCommunionSD.com.
