San Diego Museum of Art Hosts Culture and Cocktails Celebration

If you’re craving a sophisticated evening, the San Diego Museum of Art’s annual Culture and Cocktails event is the place for you.

The event, which takes place Thursday, Aug. 1, from 6-10 p.m., offers guests special access to all of the museum galleries, including featured exhibition Jasper Johns: Drawings & Prints.

The exhibition highlights the works of one of the most renowned American artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, best known for his drawings and printmaking. Docents will be available for art dialogues and discussions throughout the evening.

Opportunities to make art inspired by the Jasper Johns exhibit will also be on the itinerary for the night. To help along the creative process, there will be music from DJ Heabnasty and performances by the Hitmen Drumline and the Aerial Revolution.

For those looking for other entertainment, there will also be an “America’s Pastime” activity area, which will feature baseball-themed arcade games and a visit from the San Diego Padres Pad Squad and Friar.

Once you’ve had your fill of activities, complimentary food from Crack ShackDoggos GusHarvest KitchenPanama 66Prince Street PizzaTop of the Market will be on the menu, with more eateries still to be announced.

Themed cocktails from Cooperstown Distillery and Surf City Still Works, beer offerings from Ballast Point Brewing Company, and Ventura Spirits will also be offered at the event.

For those interested, tickets are available for purchase –$70 for members and $85 for non-members.
