Expo Day for the San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering returns, this time at Snapdragon Stadium. The free event, at 11 a.m. Saturday, includes fun activities to spark an interest in STEM fields for kids of all ages. There are two stages, a robotics round-up, art pavilion and a pre-K zone for wee ones.
CRSSD Fest Spring ’24 takes place Saturday and Sunday with music on three stages at Waterfront Park. The electronic showcase includes Lane 8, Tale of Us, Armand Van Helden, Nic Fanciulli, the Martinez Brothers and Green Velvet, TRYM and Joris Voorn. Bundle up Sunday as the Rady Shell opens up for the third annual Picnic in the Park, at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. The free celebration, to give music fans a preview of what artists they can expect for the summer pops season, is a show on its own. See the San Diego Symphony Orchestra and 2023 San Diego Music Award winners Rebecca Jade and Jeff Berkley and The Banned perform. RSVP online.
Liberty Public Market hosts the Dreamers Market Peach Blossom Pop-Up at noon Sunday. The event, featuring more than 30 female creatives and small business owners, includes live music, local vendors, face painting, eats and photo ops.
Hungry for a big feast at a little price? San Diego Restaurant Week begins Sunday at more than 100 spots around the county. For a set price ranging from $20 to $65, try a prix fixe menu of local eateries’ best dishes at brunch, lunch, dinner and even with a cocktail course option. Want a few feasts? You have time – Restaurant Week continues through March 10.
The Casbah offers a helping hand Sunday to a music studio that suffered losses in January’s flooding. The Re:Kreate benefit show at 3 p.m. will help Grant Hill’s K St. Kreative in its recovery, with Owl Be Damned, Hexa, Crasher, No Knife, Holy Tears and Nanobel lending their talents. Tickets are $25.
