Comedian Brian Regan is set to perform at The Magnolia in El Cajon this Sunday as part of his 2025 nationwide comedy tour. His performance will mark a highly anticipated return to San Diego for the first time since March 2023

Regan has built a career in comedy tours for more than 40 years. His ongoing North American tour is a testament to how his sense of humor and stage energy have endeared him to fans for decades.

“I’m very fortunate that I can have a career making people laugh. I enjoy making people laugh and the fact that they might give me a dollar at the end of the day is a nice treat on top of it,” Regan said.

“I enjoy the art of stand-up comedy. I know that sounds self-serving for me to call it an art because that’s what I do, but I like stand-up comedy and so far, I haven’t wanted to tap the brakes on it.”

Regan says in the past 25 years, three months is the longest time he can remember taking away from routing. At 66, he said his drive to do stand-up has never faltered, and says he has performed in almost 100 cities every year.

While on tour, his physical and observational comedy caught the eye of late-night talk show hosts like Johnny Carson, David Letterman, and Jimmy Fallon by finding humor in his everyday life and being able to laugh at himself.

He also has shows featured on Netflix with specials like “Brian Regan: Nunchucks and Flamethrowers” and “Brian Regan: On the Rocks.”

His ability to adapt to new entertainment platforms has opened doors for him in the Hollywood comedy scene as well. Throughout his career, he has also been able to experiment with acting in comedies and work alongside legends like Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, and Peter Ferrelly

At the center of it all, Regan says all he wants is to be the reason someone laughs and enjoys themselves in the hour that they share together.

“What I love about comedy is that you can’t laugh and feel bad at the same moment. There’s something beautiful about laughter. When people are laughing, they feel good and being able to provide that opportunity for people is a very rewarding experience,” Regan said.

“So, if you like music, magic and comedy, come on out! Because I’m doing one-third of that and maybe when the show’s over you still won’t know.”

On Sunday, doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 7:30 p.m. Guests are also invited to join the plaza pre-party 30 minutes before doors open on the outdoor patio. More information on ticket prices for Sunday night’s performance can be found here
