Special Cocktail Classes, Dinners Set for Prohibition, El Chingon, Monello


GBOD Hospitality Group will host a series of cocktail and dinner events through the end of August featuring Don Julio Tequila and Rémy Martin Cognac.
The event lineup includes a cocktail class on Wednesday and a cocktail dinner on Thursday, with a second cocktail class set for Aug. 28 and another pairing dinner on Aug. 29.
The action kicks off at Prohibition, the Gaslamp Quarter speakeasy, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The class includes a welcome drink, two signature Don Julio cocktails and the chance to step behind the bar and craft a personal cocktail. Tickets, at $55.20, are available online.
Nearby, El Chingon will host a cocktail dinner also featuring Don Julio Tequila, starting at 7 p.m. Thursday. The evening includes a three-course menu with each course paired with a craft cocktail designed to highlight a distinct tequila profile. Brand ambassador Ryan Shea will walk guests through the curated tastings and pairings. Tickets start at $69 and are available online.
At 6:30 p.m. Aug. 28, Prohibition hosts another cocktail event, this one featuring Rémy Martin Cognac. Aspiring mixologists will learn first hand from one of Prohibition’s top bartenders who will teach them to handcraft their own cocktail. Tickets, at $55.20, are available online.
Monello, the award-winning restaurant in Little Italy, will continue its monthly series of cocktail events with an Aug. 29 pairing dinner. The evening will include a four-course meal prepared by Executive Chef Fabrizio Cavallini, paired with four cocktails featuring the Rémy Martin family of Cognacs.
A special pour of LOUIS XIII Cognac is included and each course will feature a tasting and educational session on the highlighted spirits, guided by brand ambassador Charlie LaVerde. Tickets, $150 per person, are available online with a reservation deposit of $50.
