Taylor Swift, in L.A. for Eras Tour, Adds New Dates, Skips San Diego Again

The long-awaited Taylor Swift mini-residency at SoFi Stadium began Thursday with thousands of fans descending on Inglewood.
Before the Eras Tour shows even began, a pre-event merchandise sale attracted thousands of fans on Wednesday. Swifties braved an hours-long wait near the stadium for the chance to buy T-shirts, sweatshirts and other tour memorabilia.
Merchandise sales will continue each day at Lake Park, adjacent to SoFi Stadium. There also will be a sale from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, an off day in Swift’s six-night schedule at SoFi.
After Thursday night, additional Swift performances are set for Friday, Saturday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
In addition, Swift on Thursday announced an extension of the tour, not in fall of this year, but beginning in October 2024. And San Diego’s out of luck again.
She will return to North America – after L.A., the tour shifts out of the U.S. to Mexico City and continues around the world through August 2024 – with shows in Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis, Variety reports.
The Miami shows are set for Oct. 18-20, 2024, with New Orleans to follow Oct. 25-27 and Indianapolis, Nov. 1-3. Swift will conclude the tour with six shows in Toronto.
Tickets to the first leg of the tour were highly coveted – for the L.A. shows, they only can be found on the secondary market – and stadium officials reminded the public that people who don’t have them shouldn’t bother coming to SoFi to listen to the music outside.
According to the stadium’s website, nobody will be permitted to remain in the parking lots or outside the stadium once the show has started. Only ticketed guests will be given access to the venue.
