Sacra/Profana’s New Season Inspired by ‘Mirrors, Windows and Sliding Glass Doors’

The 16th season for Sacra/Profana, a San Diego professional vocal ensemble, opens this fall with a focus on connection.
The season’s theme, “Mirrors, Windows and Sliding Glass Doors,” said Artistic Director Juan Carlos Acosta, is inspired by an essay of the same name by Dr. Rudine Simms Bishop.
She wrote that library collections should offer insight into people’s experiences, Acosta explained, with mirrors, reflecting one’s own experience, windows providing a look into other cultures and sliding glass doors that can be opened for engagement.
“Our season will strive to embody this philosophy, offering reflections of your world, glimpses into others and opportunities to engage with diverse experiences,” he said.
